The Holocaust Education & Archive Research Team mourns one of its own
It is with great regret that we announce the sad death of our good friend and colleague Artur Hojan, in Koscian, Poland, who left his home the evening of the 1st of December 2013 and tragically never returned.
Artur was always a unique and spirited individual, that was pivotal to the success of the ARC trip to Poland in 2004. Artur has always been, and will always be held in high regard by his peers in the historical community, not only for his research efforts, but also for his personal friendship and contributions on many levels.
Artur was a deep and serious researcher on the Chelmno death camp, as well as the the Nazi T4 Euthanasia programme and spent much of his life dedicated to uncovering truths and educating people to the tragedy of National Socialism, both online and off.
Artur had a real gift for planning and original research and the trips he organised to Chelmno, Lodz, Poznan and Warsaw in 2005 and 2009 were the best trips Chris ever had the pleasure of being part of.
He helped Chris write the book ‘Postcards From The Past’ about the trip to Poland in 2005 along with Cameron Munro, and through the years he contributed great support and material to H.E.A.R.T. and our other research projects and this will never be forgotten.
We strive to ensure that the research he was working on before his untimely death is published and that his memory lives on through his work with the T4 Association and others.
Artur will be sadly missed by his colleagues and friends who worked closely with him, and we send our heartfelt condolences to his wife and daughter at this very sad time.
Rest in Peace – Dear Arturo
We had many unforgettable moments with Artur that will stay with us forever.
Chris Webb, Carmelo Lisciotto, and the entire H.E.A.R.T staff.
